Liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from the United States are increasing, and the U.S. is now the world's largest exporter. In 2023, the U.S. exported a record volume of LNG, and exports are expected to continue to rise.
LNG export destinations:
Europe: The primary destination for U.S. LNG exports, accounting for 66% of exports
Asia: The second largest destination for U.S. LNG exports, accounting for 26%
Latin America and the Middle East: Together accounted for 8% of U.S. LNG exports
Our company is prepared to increase the LNG exports worldwide with our partner Emergy Oil.
LNG PROCESS - The process of turning natural gas into a liquid is called liquefaction. This process is used to create Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), which is transported and stored as a liquid.
LNG benefits - LNG is a cleaner fossil fuel than coal and oil, producing less carbon dioxide, soot, and dust. It's also more economical to store and transport as a liquid.
STEPS IN THE LNG PROCESS
Natural gas production:Natural gas is drilled from underground reservoirs.
Gas treatment: Impurities are removed from the natural gas.
Liquefaction: The natural gas is cooled to -260°F (-162°C) to turn it into a liquid.
Storage: The LNG is stored in insulated tanks at subzero temperatures.
Transportation:The LNG is transported by sea in insulated ships.
Regasification: The LNG is warmed to a gaseous state and injected into a pipeline system.
